UPDATE: Sweethope Adventure Ltd has now changed hands and the site manager Chris Slack is now the owner of the company. Tony and Linda Beck will still be using Sweethope as a venue for their outdoor activity groups, but the fishing side is now managed exclusively by Chris. (1st April 2015)
Chris is the on site fishery manager. He will meet and greet you, when you get to Sweethope, make you a cup of tea if it is freezing out there and may even have a hearty soup on the wood burner. Chris organises the day to day run of the fishery and he is the one you should speak to with regards to any concerns about Sweethope, the fishery or anything else. He may be caught out wetting a line on a nice day too.
We have taken over Sweethope Loughs in May 2013 – after it had been closed for two years, we brought the fishery back to life by introducing a new and improved stocking policy, getting rid of set session times and improving the facilities – other than that we did not need to do much to offer some of the finest fly fishing in the North of England and legendary the only lough style fishing experience outside of Scotland.
We are now on a three year lease with Ray Estate with the option to extend a further 10 years beyond that – we are looking forward to being around for a while!
With regards to the business – Sweethope Adventure Limited – is a young company consisting only of three people. We are a small staff team and not a large, corporate organisation. We have a common sense approach to all our dealings and are a always willing and happy to take comments on board and improving what we offer at Sweethope!
