Sweethope Fishery Weekly Report, Week ending 21/07/19

The water is getting warmer, currently about 20 degrees so catching fish is getting harder. More importantly, however, more care needs to be taken when handling fish that are already highly stressed. Try not to handle fish out of the water, play them for too long or touch them with dry hands. So far all anglers have acted responsibly and fish casualties have been kept to a minimum.

Best performance of the week : Anthony Meadows again, this time with Paul Pratt. They were out on a boat on Wednesday night in very wet conditions and brought 40 trout to the net, fishing daddys and midas flies.

Robbie Bell and boat partner did well on Monday bringing 25 rainbow and one blue trout to the boat, fishing drys and on Friday Steven Mole and Stephen Oliver brought 28 rainbow trout to the boat.

Number of fish taken: 32

Number of fish returned: 422

Number of visiting anglers: 106

Successful fly patterns: Hoppers, hare’s ear, daddys, midas fly, Dawson’s olive, diawl bach, sedge, buzzer, montana.
