Average water temperature at the fishery is still up to 20 degrees but fish are being caught. They seem to be feeding in the shallows at the minute on the road side of the Great Lough and on the south bank. Small dries, sedges and hoppers appear to be the best fly patterns but daddies have also been doing well.
Eric Caiswell, Russell Punton and David York all did well on Sunday all fishing the shallows on the North shore. Eric with 11 brought to the net with a ginger midas fly, Russell with 13 and Dave with 11 brought to the net with sedgehog and muddler.
Steve Bowden had a great morning on the hottest day of the week: Thursday, bringing 11 to the boat, fishing daddies. Steve found his fish in the shallows but this time on the South bank.
