Sweethope Fishery Weekly Report – Week ending 30/06/19


Great attendance and support this week. Thanks everybody, still plenty of hard fighting fish to be found but probably freshen up the stock next week.

Conditions were a bit warm and bright this week and our old friend the wind came back on Sunday with a vengeance but still a respectable rod average of 2.98 was achieved.

Best individual performance of the week was that of David Long from Ashington who brought 17 rainbow and 1 brown trout to the net on Saturday.

Fishing hoppers from a boat on the Great Lough on Wednesday Robbie Bell brought 1 brown, 1 blue and 14 rainbow trout to the net.

Number of fish taken: 44

Number of fish returned: 239

Number of visiting anglers: 95

Successful fly patterns: Sedge, buzzer, damsel, diawl bach, hopper, Black Pennel, black drys.
