Conditions by the end of the week were excellent and Sunday gave us still and warm conditions with a hatch of sedges on the Great Lough. The trout appear to be in fine, fit condition with even a 2lb rainbow fighting well above its weight and taking me right down to my backing line.
We were visited by 14 rods this week who caught 20 rainbows, returning 6 to the water.
Successful fly patterns: Damsel nymph, cat’s whisker, black dancer, orange fritz goldhead and u.v. cat.
